Solo Trip to AGRA

  • UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY

Hello Guys, I recently went on a solo trip to AGRA . This trip was an super interesting because its an unplanned trip. I did when traveling solo it is crucial to have a basic outline of places you want to visit & things you want to cover to be able to have a fruitful trip & make the most of the place? Agra is a city in Uttar Pradhesh ,INDIA known for  Taj Mahal , Agra Fort  and their special food. Major part of town is a city on the banks of the yamuna river. It is 206 km from south of the national capital New Delhi. Since, I was traveling solo, I tried my best to reduce the cost of the trip overall. So here is a detail of how I planned the trip, things I did and how I had an overall lovable experience.

HOW TO REACH AGRA ?

Its to easy to reach Agra, take bus from Delhi (Anand vihar ) it takes 4 hr max. and the fair of the bus is 400 to 600 maximum . and their is government as well as private luxury buses also available but the office of the private bus its outside the bus stand.

PLACES TO VISIT:

Taj Mahal : It is an main attraction of the Agra. sign of love ,of Shah Jahan for his wife mumtaz. constructed with red sandstone or marble. lovable environment and superb decorative art on wall of every dome. and superb entry gate to the mahal with red stone art. AGRA FORT

FOOD OF AGRA : Food is always my first priority to visit new place. Agra has their own traditional culture with royal taste . famous food is Ghee ki jalebi , khachori, gajar halwa . its an amazing taste i love it. street food is also one of the best food in Agra for less budget prefer street food.

Kass Platue.. Valley of flowers of maharashtra

29 Aug 2018 Wednesday

Pooja get ready. It’s 6am.. already  late..  picking you in 10 minutes..”Geeta my bike partner  was on other side of the phone. .  It was our first bike ride and she was excited..  ” Kaas Platue”  was our destination.. It is situated  in western  ghat around  20 km from Satara. Maharashtra. Actually  at the weekend  there is too much rush and traffic  jam so we planned  on weekdays. We are leaving from Satara so it was a  hour drive  only. Around  6.30am we left Satara and our Yamaha Rx100 started  cruising to the goal.. within  next 10 minutes we left Satara city n western ghat road started. Clouds are playing hide and seek with  sun rays and it’s  like  driving through  clouds  amazing  experience and can’t compare it with  car drive so for nearby  trips I prefer  bike ride.  Pleasant climate ‘scenic road and with bestie ride was awesome  experience.  within one hour  we reached Kaas Platue..

It is known for various types of wild flowers which bloom during August-September every year. The area of plateau is located at a height of 1200 mt and is approximately 1,000 hectare. The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree (Elaeocarpus glandulosus). It has been declared as Biodiversity World Heritage Site by The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). The place has more than 850 different species of flowers and other plants including Orchids, Karvy and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica. This falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of Western Ghats which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I  always believe that nature is the best painter and this place proves me right.  Beautiful flowers bloomed everywhere. Pink blue green red every colour exist here. It’s treat for eyes. Small water bodies curves of small Hills n flowers… One can spend hours just by sitting  and watching the nature’s creation. One thing is disappointing  that people  are  making  so much plastic garbage and all n it’s annoying. We should take care of this.   My friend was photo addicted. She got many Instagramable pics and meanwhile I enjoy the nature.  After spending  few hours we move forward for  Kaas Lake(next blog)

few kilometers  from here n rain showers  started to refresh us…

Mysterious Yana Rocks and caves..

(Two magnificent hillocks…., surrounded by thick forests and streams, rise sharply above the surrounding area.. unbelievable n thrilling..)

Sometimes unexpected things surprises us more same happened with me. Actually we were on Gokarna trip n there I got information about Yanna rocks and we planned as it was on return route.. I have no any expectations From this place just though it may be routine cave and rock formation

We left Gokarna @8AM after having breakfast and tea. Uttara Kannad district is blessed with nature ..bordered by Arabian sea n nestled in sahyadri mountain range. Around 9am our car joined sirsi Yanna road and literally Literally we disconnected from the world.. No network for cellphone ..most of the sign boards in Kannada language. Dense forest Circular empty roads.. everyone is little scared inside and me too. But also enjoying the scenic drive. At such situation I love to turn off AC n roll down window glasses. That natural unpolluted air is refreshing always.  Finally we arrived parking area of yana rock. From here we have to walk around 1 and half km. It’s very remote place very few people was there. It’s not safe for solo travelers. I was really enjoying the forest vibe.. jungle was so dense that sunlight was unable to reach ground at many areas. We started walk after having coconut water. It’s killing.. birds chuckling on background monkeys and peacocks are repeated visitors by path. After a walk of 10 minutes two massive grey rocks emerged from greenery are visible. When I arrived at the destination the view was breathtaking..Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara (“Shikhara” means “hill”). The huge rocks are composed of solid black, crystalline limestone.. Bhairaveshwara Shikhara is 120 meters (390 ft) in height, while the Mohini Shikhara, which is smaller, is 90 meters (300 ft) in height. Yana is also well known as a pilgrimage center because of the cave temple below the Bhairaveshwara  where a  swayambhu (“self manifested”, or “that which is created by its own accord”) linga as been formed. Water drips from the roof over the linga, adding to the sanctity of the place..I wondered there around two hours.. discovered cave n surrounding area.. it’s so mysterious. Nobody knows how this formation took place.

After wondering about two hours we started our return journey with a fullfillment.  One can also visit Jog falls nearby but advised in rainy season. This place is for pure nature lover. There are not much food options and all.But views you get are mesmerizing that one I can promise you.. bye see you in Gokarn blog soon.

mysterious place love the vibes of place its interesting and quite amazing if you visited then please comment below.

Elephant cave’s..(Gharapuri Leni)

8th June Saturday

Gate Way of India Couple of months back when I was doing internship at passion enterprise.. I was leaving as a PG and this Saturday was first holiday for office so planned for gharapuri leni (elephant caves) just a half day tour from Gate way of India….I’m from Kolhapur side so not use to humidity of Mumbai that’s why planned to go early in the morning. But reaching jetty we came to know that ferry starts at 9 Am . So done breakfast meanwhile.

Finally I checked in ferry n journey started.. As usual I enjoy journey by the Arabian sea. It’s a beautiful shoreline of Mumbai Gate way and Taj hotel on background. I always love to travel from the deck while boating. It makes me to forget all daily stress and rejuvenate my soul. That view of endless blue water of Arabic sea makes us feel that how small we are.. Within 30 ..40 minutes of travel you can see elephant island. As the boat getting closer I was excited for visit of this world heritage site by UNESCO.On arrival there was a toy train to reach the entrance point but lot of waiting so preferred for 10 minutes walk.
Elephants Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a collection of cave temples predominantly dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It contains rock cut sculptures. You have to climb many stairs n also little walk n it’s hectic also for few people
Beyond this point, you would be amazed by the sheer magnificence of the rock-cut caves. I was entered  the main cave and amazed the master sculpture which represents the 3 aspects of Shiva, as the creator(Bhairava), the preserver(Taptapurusha) and the destroyer(Vamadeva).. there are many caves n sculptures about Hindu gods. Most of them are damaged but still worthy.I spent more than three hours discovering this place. It really took me to our ancient era. Crowd is little disturbing sometimes.Every Indian visit this place. This trip was not for fun it was to connect myself to our rich heritage. Dark caves  , rock cuts   ruined sculptures really unique place. We should proud of such a great culture. After having snacks we got back in ferry.
While returning again the city shoreline .gate way Taj hotel starts appearing but now i lost in elephants and that large Shiva sculptures which may created before 2000 years and still having the same Vibe ( by the way I’m die hard fan of Shiva)
